Located on the east edge of Florida State’s campus, Spear It is a burger joint with the most school spirit. It has a full bar, awesome service and an exciting atmosphere on gameday. No wonder they they got 4 ½ stars on Yelp. Among recommended dishes are the meatloaf burger, veggie burger and fried mac and cheese sticks.
#3. Grub Burger Bar
Although it’s a newcomer to the neighborhood, Grub’s amazing burgers, modern atmosphere, and stellar service have made it an instant local favorite! Their bar service is great and so are their happy hour deals. Some favorite dishes are the salmon burger, Ahi Tuna salad, and mac and cheeseburger. 138 people on Yelp gave Grub 4 stars and put it in the medium price range. Don’t leave without having a milkshake for desert!

This burger place is not for the faint of heart. Their menu is huge and there are thousands of ways to make your gourmet burger your own. They have a great happy hour and are located in the heart of midtown, walking distance from boutiques, bars and a bookstore. Midtown Caboose got a solid 4 stars on Yelp and was reviewed by 142 people.

A quirky Tallahassee burger joint with a unique menu. Feeling adventurous? Try their falafel burger, shrimp burger, duck burger, or one of their popular vegan options. The restaurant and staff are hip and trendy, and its location close to the capital attracts a wide variety of customers. The fries and onion rings, although heavenly, are not included in a meal, which made most reviewers on Yelp dub Vertigo ‘on the pricey side.’

Like many of the businesses on Gaines Street, this little burger and hot dog joint has made a name for itself with its funky atmosphere and unique offerings. Its vegan hot-dogs could fool any meat-lover in a taste test, and almost any burger or hot dog can be topped with their famous mac and cheese (if you haven’t noticed, we really love mac and cheese in Tallahassee). Plus, Yelp reviews give Voodoo Dog 4 ½ stars!
#6. Woodchuck’s Cafe
Don’t let its location dissuade you; Woodchucks is a Tallahassee staple! Although its location next to a gas station makes parking difficult, this place serves an awesome brunch and even better burgers. They have great vegan/vegetarian options, fair prices and yummy, homemade desserts. Yelpers gave Woodchuck’s 4 ½ stars, but it’s one place you have to see for yourself!

Boasting great appetizers, great beer and a bible of a menu, Well’s Brothers has won over the hearts of Tallahassee burger-lovers. The ‘build your own burger’ gives you a big, juicy burger with too many topping choices to count–cucumbers, salsa, grilled veggies…if you can name it, they will put it on your burger. They have a nice outdoor seating area that is dog-friendly and a great staff of friendly servers. 244 people on Yelp gave Wells Bros. 4 out of 5 stars.
